Job Description

The Company
My client is a well-respected and busy, NZ owned multidisciplinary planning, engineering and surveying company that provides expert planning surveying, project management and engineering services across New Zealand.

They work on a broad variety of rural and urban projects, so job variety is guaranteed. They have many existing projects on the go, and more in the pipeline, they have projects between the Coromandel and Wellington, and many places between.

Due to steady growth and ongoing workload, they are looking to hire an Intermediate or Senior level Planner to their team.

The Role

  • Meeting with clients to discuss subdivision viability and design
  • Collaborate in the design of the subdivision scheme plans
  • Council pre-application meetings or hearings
  • Preparation of Resource Consent applications for a range of purposes such as subdivision, land use consent and environmental consents
  • Manage applications through Council, including all correspondence, meetings and engagement of other required specialists
  • Project management
  • Monitoring the completion of consent conditions
  • Ensuring time frames are maintained
  • Scheduling of work as required
  • Preparing and submitting sign off certificate requests through Council


About You

  • Degree in Resource Management or other planning related disciplines
  • A sound knowledge of the Resource Management
  • 3 years plus planning experience either in a local authority of private practice setting
  • A team player that enjoys sharing their knowledge with others, and collaborating to achieve outcomes
  • Client focused and results orientated with a strong attention to detail
  • Tertiary qualifications in planning, resource management or a similar discipline
  • Up to date knowledge of current and proposed legislation
  • Strong report writing skills with a focus on clear and concise presentation
  • Excellent communication skills
