Job Description

Kia mahi ngātahi mō Pōneke mō tōna āpōpō | Working together for Wellington's future.

Wellington has large scale ambitions for what the capital city will look and feel like for future generations - an inclusive city for all, that celebrates its creative spirit and is environmentally and economically sustainable... The next few years will see Wellington transition to this state as we invest into the core infrastructure of the city. Whether it be property development and building safe affordable housing, investing into our three waters infrastructure or changing the look, feel and operation of our city streets - infrastructure will be the beating heart of what drives Wellingtons transition into the future.

Do you want to be at the forefront of this change?

Does leaving a legacy for future generations of Wellingtonians sound like something that could get behind?

Then why not consider a career move into our Transport & Infrastructure Business Unit who will be the enablers of Wellingtons change - making a difference in the lives of Wellingtonians now and into the future.

We are looking for a Network Coordinator to join our dynamic Transport and Infrastructure team. This role supports the Corridor Manager in ensuring that our city's transport corridors are managed effectively and safely. You will ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations while assisting in the efficient management of works on public roads.

If you're passionate about infrastructure, regulatory compliance, and making a tangible impact on the community's day-to-day operations, this could be the role for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utility and Maintenance Works: Ensure all construction and maintenance works carried out on public roads in Pōneke comply with relevant codes, bylaws, and conditions, including works access permits.
  • Risk Management: Work with the Network Control team to mitigate risks related to road corridor access and usage by third parties, ensuring safety and efficiency for all road users.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Assist the Corridor Manager in facilitating communication with key stakeholders in the utility and infrastructure sectors, ensuring smooth project implementation and collaboration.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, collect feedback from contractors, and streamline operations to improve overall service delivery.
  • Reporting & Data Management: Monitor and report on work schedules, create roadworks reports, and manage data relating to Works Access requests in systems like Submittica.

What You'll Bring:

  • Strong knowledge of codes and regulations related to utility works and transport corridors (desired).
  • Experience in infrastructure management or civil engineering (preferred but not required).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders.
  • A solutions-focused mindset with an eagerness to contribute to process improvement and continuous learning.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in data management and reporting tools.
