Job Description

About the role

We are searching for a passionate and driven Customer Success Manager to lead Halter’s North Island Customer Success function. This is an opportunity to be part of a positive disruption to our farming industry, to be directly shaping and impacting the use of Halter’s technology on thousands of farms across the North Island.

In the future, when we look back on farming and remember a time when farmers used to get cows in, plate metre pasture, put fences up, pull tillers… you will forever have played a pivotal role in that transformation, leading an outstanding team, dedicated to ensuring farmers extract the full value from Halter.

Could be a bit of you? You’ll care deeply about farmers and seeing them succeed. When the pressure is on, you’ll be a level head, you’ll likely thrive in the heat of the moment. You will enjoy instilling the right processes to ensure we are delivering consistently, a world-class customer experience. Oh, you’ll definitely have high standards too, an ‘industry standard’ won’t cut the mustard for you. You will enjoy leading a team and creating an open culture with a growth mindset. You’ll be a masterful account manager yourself, with experience creating success plans, building relationships, managing expectations, negotiating contract renewals and setting touchpoints. You’ll be able to lead by example, comfortable coaching or putting your knowledge into practice with your accounts. You’ll also be hungry to make an impact by taking initiative, you won’t need an invite to spin up your next big idea.

This won’t be your most cruisy job, but there's a strong chance it’s the most fulfilling and impactful work of your career.

This role can either be based in Auckland or Waikato.

What your day could look like

  • Revenue Retention & Expansion: You will own the retention and expansion of Halter’s existing revenue in the region by working closely with farmers to ensure they are extracting full value, achieving their desired value proposition, and ultimately understanding the impact Halter is having on their farming business. By driving improved outcomes on farms, and identifying opportunities for further impact, you will be responsible for the retention & expansion of Halter’s revenue in the region.
  • Account Management: lead customer engagement, building genuine, authentic and enduring relationships with our farmers and their teams, families and animals. Understand the right touchpoints and processes required to ensure farmers extract the full potential of Halter for their business.
  • Training and Development: Adapt Halter’s existing processes to develop and implement training programs for your team, ensuring continuous skill enhancement and alignment with company objectives. Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration within the sales organization.
  • Lead a world-class Customer Success team: Lead, manage and support the field-based Customer Success Executives, driving high performance and helping ensure the success of our customers across the region.
  • Growth Initiatives: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimize and refine the Halter customer experience. Constantly looking for opportunities to innovate and upgrade our service.

Who are we looking for

  • A phenomenal attitude and a team player with the ability to consistently overcome challenges.
  • Someone who walks towards the pressure and thrives on hard problems.
  • Experience in managing customer success teams, and owning revenue retention.
  • Experience managing high-stakes accounts, navigating stakeholders and building relationships with a diverse range of people.
  • An innovative leader, with a track record of executing new solutions to deliver exceptional outcomes to customers.
  • A data-driven leader that understands the nuances of building a CS function and managing customer touchpoints.
  • Experience within the agricultural sector is a big bonus, but not a complete deal breaker.
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment with a high degree of autonomy.
  • A hunger for success and personal growth to be able to evolve quickly alongside a world-class team.
