Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Farm Animal Health

Are you a passionate and experienced veterinary researcher looking to make a significant impact in the field of veterinary science? Massey University’s School of Veterinary Science is seeking a dedicated, farm animal focused Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor to join our dynamic team in Animal Health and Production.

About Us: The School of Veterinary Science advances knowledge in animal health and welfare, biosecurity, conservation and sustainable productivity. We are a world-leader in our field, working with governments, other universities, international and national organisations and companies to improve animal health and production, and human health. We have over 1000 students, 250 staff and 170 research programmes. In the 2024 QS rankings, the School was ranked first in Australasia and Asia in Veterinary Science.

Position Purpose: Enhance the learning and qualifications outcomes of Massey University’s students and the scholarly outputs and standing of the University by undertaking an effective programme of teaching, research and publication. You will be involved in delivering high-quality veterinary teaching, providing clinical instruction, and undertaking research.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivery of tutorials, lectures, seminars, practicals, laboratories, workshops and clinical instruction through all modes of teaching and delivery mediums.
Contribute to the University degree completions and success by supervising the research activities of undergraduate and postgraduate students, including postgraduate research projects and theses.
Undertake an active and appropriate programme of academic research, including participation in team-based research as appropriate, to the level expected by the University’s Strategic Research Capability Policy

Qualifications and Experience:

You must have a veterinary degree which can be registered with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand. Also required is a relevant postgraduate qualification, along with teaching and research experience in a university or other tertiary teaching environment within the broad area of farm animal health.

Appointment at Associate Professor level - you will be an internationally recognised leader in research and publication in farm animal health.

The salary will be reflective of experience within the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor ($81,172 to $157,025 NZD) range. This full time (37.5h p/w) position will be based in Palmerston North.
