No surprise if you have - Big Chill Distribution is a key business within the Freightways Group and is the leader in the storage and express delivery of chilled and frozen products nationwide, with ten depots strategically positioned throughout New Zealand.

About the role:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role is predominantly working in a team of 3, processing both customer claims and the weekly customer invoice run.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Reviewing billing information and generating customer invoices.
  • Managing invoice queries from customers
  • Investigating and responding to claims requests
  • Reporting Sales and claims statistics
  • Updating the Transport Management System as required


Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience in a financial role with and an eye for detail
  • A customer focused approach along with being a proactive problem solver
  • A motivated self-starter who is able to work with a level of autonomy
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your work
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence using the usual suite of Office Products.
  • A background in freight and a working knowledge of the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017 in particular Part 5, Subpart 1 – Carriage of goods would be useful.


This is a full-time permanent role operating Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. There can be some flexibility in these hours.
