About the role

Our dedicated kitchen team are looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join them on a full-time, permanent basis at our stunning retirement village, The Orchards, based in Glenfield< North Shore, Auckland. You will be responsible for whipping up delicious quality meals and for our residents and visitors. Working alongside our Food Services Manager, you will help lead our team ensuring the coordination of the kitchen is effortless.

Reporting to the Food Services Manager, this role is working 40 hours per week, Wednesday to Sunday. Our weekend allowance applies here for your weekend work, and it is well worth it!

Duties Include:

  • Creating delicious food in a restaurant environment
  • Coordinating the kitchen to ensure it operates effortlessly.
  • Maintaining a high standard of food with consistent portion sizes and outstanding presentation.
  • Using your leadership skills to support our kitchen team alongside our Kitchen Manager.


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a similar role - previous Aged Care experience would be an advantage
  • Commercial kitchen and or café experience preferred.
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Food industry qualification
  • Excellent food hygiene practices and personal presentation.
