Tradestaff have a variety of Electrical jobs across the Bay of Plenty region. Bay of Plenty will be the predominate area of work for this role – however you may also be required to work in the Waikato and Hawkes Bay Regions. This will be discussed further with the successful applicant.

We are looking for Electricians with background knowledge and experience with the following (but are not limited to):

  • examining blueprints, wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation
  • measuring and laying out installation reference points
  • selecting, cutting and connecting wire and cable to terminals and connectors
  • using electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults
  • repairing and replacing faulty wiring and defective parts
  • positioning and installing electrical switchboards
  • connecting electrical systems to power supply
  • testing continuity of circuit
  • installing, testing and adjusting electric and mechanical parts of lifts
  • installing, mounting, wiring, and connecting solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and arrays on rooftops or ground-mounted structures
  • configuring, testing, and commissioning solar PV systems, including inverters, batteries, and monitoring equipment
  • ensuring proper alignment, weatherproofing, and safety of solar installations


Ideally, you will be or have:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience
  • Trade qualifications preferred however scope and length of electrical experience may substitute for the formal qualification
  • Relevant NZ EWRB Limited or a Practicing License preferred
  • Your own tools
  • Own reliable transport
  • At least 2 work references
  • 100% commitment to Health & Safety
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test


In return we offer competitive rates of pay, varied and challenging work, regular hours with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, as well as long-term opportunities.

Minimum pay range $28-$35 depending on experience
