Job Description

Are you looking for a administration role in a fun environment full of aroha and laughter? We have the role for you!

We are looking for a superstar Administrator to join our team at Hardykids Nelson! We are looking for a warm, welcoming, and professional individual who will hold a key role in building and maintaining relationships within our centre. The role will require the candidate to provide a high level of support to the Centre Manager through effective management of administration systems and high levels of communication with both enrolled families and external organisations.

This is a part time 25 hour role from Monday – Friday; we offer flexible days and hours so have a kōrero with us about your schedule!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Face to face interactions with parents, children and visitors to the Centre
  • Maintenance of our childcare management system (Discover) - data entry, data audits, parent invoicing and payment receipts
  • Answering and directing telephone calls, timely, accurately and professionally
  • Daily and weekly reports and data collation as required by the Centre Manager
  • Supplying information to our Support Office in line with daily and weekly reporting requirements
  • Any other general admin-based tasks as required and requested


About You:

  • Outstanding customer service ability – warm, friendly, and welcoming!
  • Tech savvy – you will have excellent computer skills, proficient in MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook in particular)
  • Exceptional organisational and administration skills with a fastidious eye for detail
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work with good problem solving ability
  • Flexibility, and a willingness to step in and support others as required
  • Knowledge of WINZ funding entitlements and experience using a childcare management system is preferred but not essential
  • You will need to be available to travel to the centres to complete various administrative tasks
  • Experience with accounts, invoices and debts is advantageous
