He angitūtanga / The opportunity:

Compass Group NZ are looking for a Permanent Full-Time Food Services Coordinator to work at our site in Southland.

A Food Services Coordinator is an employee who holds the skills and abilities to be capable of delivering a quality catering service to our customers at schools or client sites on a daily basis. This role requires a pro-active approach to safety and utilisation of all of the safety equipment and procedures provided by Compass Group.

Minimum of 30 hours a week, during education terms only. You will have normal working hours in accordance with the roster during the term time only. You may be offered additional hours of work during term breaks.

Our operation is 5 days a week, you must be available to work a rotating roster, Monday to Friday.

It would be beneficial if you are available to start immediately.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

  • Receiving delivered meals, including temperature monitoring, packing goods into chillers and doing stock rotation
  • Storing and preparing of goods for reheating/dispatch including thawing and readying of oven cassettes for hot meals
  • Reheating hot meals
  • Conducting safety observations as well as temperature monitoring and recording
  • Dispatching Packing of hot meals / cold meals into Cambro boxes once ready for dispatch, including loading of temperature recording into Cambro test and sorting Cambro boxes
  • Cleaning of ovens, oven trays and premises
  • Maintain clean & tidy dining/kitchen areas including washing and mopping
  • Assist with preparing and presenting food
  • Manage Waste Streams at site
  • Conduct thorough investigations into any food poisoning allegations and / or alleged incidents and
  • occurrences
