Our client is looking for a hands-on, mechanically skilled individual to join their team as a Machine Fitter/Service Technician.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands and has experience with farm equipment, machinery, or similar areas.


In this role, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing milking machines and related equipment on farms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain milking machines and equipment on farms
  • Test and troubleshoot milking machines (training provided)
  • Other tasks may include welding, fabrication, machining, assembly, and basic electrical work (no qualifications required)


Hours of Work:

  • Full-time hours of 40 plus hours per week
  • Flexibility for early starts or late finishes to match milking schedules and seasonal changes
  • After-hours and weekend work on a rotating roster (around every 6-8 weeks)
  • Occasional travel for out-of-town work, with overnight stays
  • This role is based in Palmerston, so you'll need reliable transportation. Rates per hour for this role is dependent on relevant experience in the Agriculture industry. Candidates must be located locally and have full-time work eligibility in New Zealand.
