At Nethermind, We Lead in AI Innovation

We are leading the charge in AI innovation, driving progress through groundbreaking research, smart solutions, and impactful real-world applications. We are dedicated to decentralizing AI and developing solutions on leading blockchains, including Starknet and Worldcoin, we are shaping a decentralized future that prioritizes privacy, innovation, and advanced digital ecosystems. As pioneers in agentic AI, we empower systems to make autonomous, intelligent decisions, accelerating digital transformation.

Ready to Shape the Future with AI? At Nethermind, we’re passionate about pushing boundaries. Our Agentic Internship offers you the chance to work at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and real-world impact.

From day one, you’ll contribute to building innovative AI systems that streamline processes and empower users, all while gaining hands-on experience with the latest in AI and blockchain technologies.

We’re not just thinking about today—we’re crafting solutions for the future. If you're excited to build smarter and more intuitive systems, this is your opportunity to get involved, explore, and innovate alongside a dynamic team.

What You'll Do

Dive into the frontier of autonomous agent development by working on challenging problems that push the boundaries of what agents can achieve. You'll:

  • Architect and implement autonomous agents that can decompose complex tasks, reason about their environment, and execute multi-step plans with minimal human intervention. This includes designing agent workflows, developing decision-making frameworks, and implementing feedback loops for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with our research team to explore novel approaches to agent orchestration, including techniques for managing agent-to-agent communication, handling task delegation, and optimizing resource allocation across agent networks.
  • Research and implement advanced prompting strategies and knowledge extension mechanisms (RAG and others) to enhance agent capabilities, focusing on improving contextual understanding, task persistence, and autonomous decision-making.
  • Develop evaluation frameworks to measure agent performance, reliability, and alignment with intended objectives. You'll help establish metrics for assessing agent autonomy, task completion accuracy, and safety constraints.
  • Contribute to our agent infrastructure by building tools and libraries that make it easier to create, deploy, and monitor autonomous agents at scale. This includes working on agent memory systems, error-handling mechanisms, and integration with external tools and APIs.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging agent frameworks, tools, and research papers to identify opportunities for innovation and integration. You'll analyze competing approaches, assess new tools' potential impact on agent capabilities.
  • Document your findings, share insights with the team, and help shape the future of our agent development practices through regular knowledge-sharing sessions and collaborative problem-solving.

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Are deeply passionate about autonomous AI systems and have a genuine curiosity about how to make agents think, reason, and act independently to solve complex problems.
  • Have hands-on experience with Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript, and enjoy building scalable systems that can orchestrate multiple processes and handle complex workflows.
  • Are familiar with LLM frameworks (like LangChain, AutoGPT) and agent development tools, or have a strong desire to learn them quickly.
  • Think systematically about problems, with the ability to break down complex agent behaviors into manageable components and design clear decision-making flows.
  • Excel at clear technical communication, particularly when explaining complex agent architectures, documenting agent behaviors, and collaborating in a remote environment.
  • Have a strong foundation in prompt engineering or demonstrated ability to structure clear, effective instructions for AI systems.
  • Are excited about working at the intersection of AI safety, agent autonomy, and practical implementation, with careful consideration for responsible development practices.
  • Bring a creative and analytical mindset to solving novel challenges in agent development, whether it's designing new agent capabilities or optimizing existing workflows.

What projects can I work on?

Throughout the duration of the internship you will have the flexibility to move between projects based on your skills, interests, and preferences. our interns can work on one or more from the following projects:

  • Blockchain Core Engineering
  • DevOps & Infrastructure
  • Nethermind Research
