Clinical Nurse Manager

Access Community Health is a leading home-based healthcare and support provider. Our nationwide team of over 3,500 Support Workers and Registered Health Professionals reach over 40,00 clients | tāngata in our community. We provide nursing, personal cares, rehabilitation, social support and household assistance to ensure our tāngata are safe, active, and independent in their own homes.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the team of registered health professionals in the Southern region, with the option to work based in either our Dunedin or Invercargill branch. This role has operational accountability to lead and manage the clinical aspects of the operation for the region, including day to day service delivery across multiple service contracts, the overall leadership and management of all clinical staff, oversight of the service provided to clients with complex care requirements, and clinical mentoring and coaching. The Clinical Nurse Manager is also responsible for fostering and managing strong and positive relationships with funders and referrers in the region and for providing input into national projects and policy development.

This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with some on call responsibilities, and regular travel across the Otago and Southland regions.

What are we looking for?

  • Registered Nurse with current Annual Practising Certificate and extensive leadership experience
  • Community Nursing experience of not less than 5 years
  • InterRAI training preferred but not essential
  • Full drivers' licence
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word, and data manipulation and reporting experience
  • A strong and confident leader at a senior level
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing a business unit in a complex service delivery environment
  • Clinical staff assessment, mentoring and supervision experience
  • Embraces change and has demonstrated ability to implement clinical management and improvement initiatives

  • Providing day-to-day clinical oversight and leadership for nursing staff.
  • Coaching and developing a team of Clinical Team Leaders.
  • Ensuring clinical quality standards and audits are consistently met.
  • Supporting the implementation of new care models and digital systems.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with healthcare partners across the sector.
