The Security Delivery Lead (SDL) oversights the security services we delivery to our customers, acting as the primary point of contact for the end-to-end delivery for a specific customer. The SDL focuses on understanding the customer’s business requirements to continually evolve and improve the services we deliver to that customer. Through this capacity, the SDL becomes a trusted cyber advisor to internal and external stakeholders.

Key tasks performed by the SDL include:

  • Working closely with the customer, to understand their industry, their organisation and their cyber security threats and risks, and considering the services we provide against this understanding
  • Managing and building strong relationships with leadership teams and internal/external stakeholders
  • Oversighting the delivery of security services, leaning in where improvements are required
  • Conducting security governance, risk and compliance activities, including assisting with audits and running monthly security governance meetings with the customer.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities that can either enhance service delivery or lead to further work for DXC
  • Working in conjunction with other DXC teams including the incident response team, coordinate the investigation, management, and response to all security incidents with impacts on the customer and keep appraised of all security incidents and responses


Specific Requirements:

As the primary security point of contact with customers, SDLs need to have a good mix of technical and soft skills. The mandatory requirements for the role are:

  • Either a strong cyber security domain knowledge, or a desire to jump in, embrace cyber security and upskill quickly through gaining relevant industry certifications (CISSP, CISM etc)
  • A love of working directly with customers, including getting your hands dirty if required
  • Effective interpersonal communication and influencing skills and an ability to engage with a customer to discuss security topics in at varying levels of detail - noting that technical cyber security staff are there to support


Demonstrated ability to take accountability and to work autonomously – although the broader DXC cyber security team is always there to provide advice, assist and help out when needed

About you:

We recognise that what makes a great SDL is not restricted to technical cyber security knowledge. While the traditional SDL has come from a security delivery or security governance role, if you come from an IT operations, project management, consulting, IT risk / auditing or similar background, but want to focus further on cyber security, we would love to hear from you.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Significant professional experience in IT, with at least 8 years’ experience in an information technology, cyber security, risk management, audit or equivalent discipline
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, or equivalent industry experience
  • A cyber security / IT audit certification such as the CISSP, CISM or CISA (or a strong desire to obtain the qualification)
  • An understanding of cyber security standards and frameworks, such as the Information Security Manual / Essential 8, ISO 27001, or the NIST Cyber Security Framework


You must have the ability to obtain a Government security clearance
