About the Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter/Fabricator for an exciting opportunity with a well-established engineering company based in Tauranga This is a hands-on role within a dynamic team where you'll have the chance to work across a variety of projects in a broad engineering environment. If you're passionate about mechanical maintenance, problem-solving, and fabrication, then this is the perfect opportunity for you!

As a Maintenance Fitter/Fabricator, you'll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and fabrication of machinery and equipment, ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. Your expertise will play a crucial role in minimizing downtime and contributing to continuous improvements across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and modify components based on requirements, including welding and metalworking.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical faults and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to carry out repairs and modifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve equipment issues and optimize performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and inventory of parts.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of systems and processes.


What We're Looking For:

  • A qualified Maintenance Fitter, Fabricator, or equivalent trade qualification (Fitting & Turning, Mechanical Engineering, etc.).
  • Strong experience in maintenance and fabrication, ideally within a broad engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in mechanical systems, welding, and use of fabrication tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of work.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • A proactive, flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
