As a health sector focused Senior Consultant in the AI & Data service line at EY, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our public and private health clients with execution of high-impact projects. You will work directly with clients (clinical and technical) to understand their business needs, design and implement health analytics models, and develop AI solutions that drive measurable value, helping improve healthcare and health access for people in Aotearoa/New Zealand. Key deliverables will include:
- Driving project delivery, leading junior consultants, and enabling the successful delivery of internal and external initiatives.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in health, AI and data science, contributing to the continuous enhancement of our service offerings.
- Your experience and skills will be instrumental in helping clients navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of AI and data, ultimately enabling them to achieve their strategic goals.
This role can be performed from any of our EY offices across Aotearoa. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management, data management/engineering, data visualisation, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics, with a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions to business problems in a consulting or healthcare context. As a health sector focused Senior Consultant, you will play a key role in driving project delivery, engaging with clients and supporting junior team members, and driving the implementation of cutting-edge AI and data solutions for our clients.
Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.
- Track record of delivering population health/clinical service analysis or business analysis or data visualisation projects
- Extensive experience of New Zealand health data and/or systems, with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in health research, with health providers and/or professional services, and at least 2 years of leading a variety of data projects or managing a team of analysts
- Drive delivery of AI and Data projects from inception to completion, consistently ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and develop tailored AI and data solutions that drive value and achieve strategic objectives.
- Design, and manage development and implementation of analytics models, and AI solutions to solve complex business problems
- Experience using Snowflake, SQL, R and Excel preferred
- Empower and guide junior team members, providing technical expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Public Health, Statistics or another related field.
