He Angitūtanga: The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Learning Specialist – Māori Outcomes to join the Capability Team at Te Kaunihera o Tāmaki Makaurau. In this role, you will design, implement, and continuously improve evidence-based learning products, pathways, and guidelines that build a culturally capable workforce and support the growth and development of kaimahi Māori. Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will drive high performance while ensuring learning solutions align with council’s long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, curate, and implement learning pathways that honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi and build a culturally confident workforce.
• Lead the development and delivery of Māori capability initiatives, embedding te reo, tikanga, and mātauranga Māori
across the organisation.
• Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure learning solutions are human-centred, effective, and accessible.
• Leverage insights and data to inform learning strategies and continuously improve delivery.
• Act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on best practice learning approaches and workforce capability development.

You are a highly skilled learning and development professional with a deep understanding of te ao Māori, te reo, and tikanga. With experience in designing and delivering capability-building initiatives, you are passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that foster cultural confidence and career growth. Your ability to collaborate effectively, think strategically, and apply human-centered design principles ensures the development of impactful learning pathways. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment, you thrive on innovation and continuous improvement, always seeking ways to enhance engagement and accessibility. Your strong interpersonal skills enable you to build relationships across diverse teams, influencing and guiding stakeholders to drive positive outcomes for Māori and the wider workforce.
