About the role

Our Auckland Property and Asset Management team are looking for an Assistant Project Manager with a focus on Asset Management. You'll play a supporting role to the Project Asset Manager and Property Delivery Managers, providing best practice expertise and advice, as well as ensuring that a "whole of life asset" approach is taken to decision making and prioritisation. Based at our Newmarket office, WFH or one of the villages- you will report into the Senior Project Manager ensuring timely updates and project work is maintained in your portfolio.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Support to the Project Asset Manager with the development, management and delivery of the Asset Management Strategy Plan for the existing portfolio. Also supporting the seamless transition of new build development handover to the Property & Asset Team and ongoing property related feedback to the design team
  • Delivery of refurbishment projects of Independent Living Units to an agreed scope, and budget whilst meeting all compliance and H&S regulations and protocols. This would be your core role.
  • Support the Financial Project Manager and Facilities Manager with consistent quality to successfully deliver the coordinated programme strategy across the villages assigned that includes;
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance
  • Remediation (weathertightness)
  • Capex Projects (internal & external)
  • Refurbishment modernisation programme
  • Repairs & Maintenance


About you
Ideally you will have some Project Management experience working in aged care or similar construction/property environment, but this is not mandatory. You will be looking to grow your career in this direction and be able to strategize and plan to deliver agreed outcomes. Your application will be supported by:

  • Working on project timelines to budget, within timeframes and of a high quality
  • Exposure to asset management and working with long term maintenance replacements
  • Knowledge and experience working with Capex/Opex projects is highly regarded
