Job Description
- Full time, permanent position in Central Auckland
- Minimum 30 hours per week, maximum 60 hours per week
- $28.00 - $35 per hour + great staff benefits

The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for experienced industry professionals to step into the role of Sous Chef! Ideally have 2-3 years experience in a high volume venue and/or a trades qualification. You will have a fantastic attitude, flexibility to work evenings and weekends. You will ideally have experience in Japanese, Italian, Spanish, and/or Asian Fusion cuisine. You will have effective team management experience including the ability to train and mentor your team. You will have the capability to maintain high food standards, experience in managing and monitoring financial budgets and food and labour costs, and the flexibility to work across a 7 day roster, including late evenings, weekends and public holidays.If you do not meet the above requirements, check https://savor.co.nz/careers as we are often recruiting for entry level roles.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Managing, and leading the kitchen team in conjunction with the Head Chef
- Ensuring exceptional product delivery at all times
- Day to day operation of the kitchen
- Assuming responsibility in the absence of the Head Chef
- In conjunction with the head chef, menu planning, costing, including the cost of goods across the kitchen
- Assisting the Head chef with people practices including, recruitment, performance management, retention, engagement and training
- Stock management including, ordering, receipting, storage and rotation
