Mō te tūnga | About the role

We are looking for someone to join as a full-time Support Worker in a Planned Leave Cover (PLC) role. Our PLC roles cover staff leave, so they do not have set shifts and their fortnightly roster will vary, but you are guaranteed at least 65 hours per fortnight. This role requires you to have flexibility to work a range of shifts, including mornings, evenings, sleepovers and weekends.

The role of a Support Worker involves providing assistance to individuals in developing their independence and acquiring skills for daily living. This includes tasks like helping them with public transportation, employment, finances, and meal preparation. Depending on the specific work environment, Support Workers may also assist with individual needs such as shopping, cleaning, showering, and medication administration.

No prior experience in the health and disability sector is necessary, but a strong desire to pursue a career as a Support Worker with a positive attitude is highly valued. Full training and orientation will be provided to individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn

• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepover shifts.
• Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
• Possession of a Full NZ driver's license or willingness to work towards obtaining one.
