He aha te mahi? What's the role?

As Group Financial Accountant at Zespri, the purpose of your role is to produce Group financial information and reporting, both to support the wider business and for statutory purposes.

Your key responsibilities are;

  • Intercompany Accounting: Responsible for ensuring accurate recording and reporting of intercompany transactions. Involving the transfer of goods, services or funds between entities within the same group of companies.
  • Fixed Asset and Lease Accounting: Recognition, measurement and disclosure of fixed assets and leases in the financial statements. This includes analysing lease agreements, determining the appropriate accounting treatment and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation, maintenance and analysis of FX revaluations, journal entries, general ledger accounts and the consolidated financial statements.
  • Compliance and Internal Controls: compliance with accounting standards, laws and regulations.
  • Statutory Accounts and Audit: Assist with the preparation of consolidated statutory accounts and the audit process.
  • Support and Assistance: Support and assist other Finance Team Members and Regional Finance functions to ensure quality and timely output.

We’re looking for a motivated team player who enjoys being part of a collaborative environment, and meets the following selection criteria:

  • Fully qualified business degree with accounting major.
  • Full membership of CAANZ or similar (preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years post qualification experience ideally combined with Chartered Accounting / Audit background and experience gained in a publicly listed company or multinational organisation.
  • Highly developed technical accounting / finance skills and experience including leases and multi-currency operations.
  • Computer literacy including SAP, Blackline and Microsoft products.

Competitive overall remuneration package, including a Short-Term Incentive scheme opportunity OR The base salary for this position is between {90% and 115% of the pay band} plus a performance-based short-term incentive scheme (for employees who meet the eligibility criteria) and benefits. Please note that individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, performance and work location.
