New Zealand Police is the lead agency responsible for reducing crime and enhancing community safety. We work in partnership with individuals, communities, businesses and other public sector agencies to achieve our vision of Safer Communities Together.

We are seeking a Financial Analyst - Capital, who enjoys working in an exciting work environment, has good communication skills, and the ability to deliver within challenging timeframes.

Key Accountabilities:

  • develop and enhance the capital expenditure planning processes and tools
  • review and action the assets under constructions and capitalisation
  • maintain the organisation’s capital expenditure, depreciation and capital charge forecasts
  • maintain integrity of the General Ledger by preparing and ensuring monthly accounts and accruals are accurate reflection of underlying transactions and assumptions
  • timely and accurate reconciliation of allocated balance sheet accounts by proactively following up and resolving the outstanding items
  • promote innovation by identifying opportunities for improved financial practices and business improvements that strengthen internal controls and streamline business processes
  • Assistance with general accounting duties within the group

Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in technical accounting skills, including an understanding and knowledge of management accounting and financial management principles and practices

Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $87,306 and $91,353 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
