The Company Global leader in the logistics and shipping industry who are known for delivering quality and innovative services spanning continents. With head offices based in Singapore, NZ acts as a satellite operation with centrally located offices in Auckland City and a supportive, close-knit finance team. This is a contract position requiring an immediate start with the potential to go permanent for the right person.
The Role As the Accounts Assistant you will work in a close-knit team of 3, reporting into the accountant where you will manage the transactional workflow for New Zealand and you will have a heavy focus on building strong relationships with their large customer base.
Your duties will include:
Balance sheet and GL reconciliations
Assisting with the P&L, journal entries, accruals and various ad-hoc month-end tasks
Processing invoices through to payments and vendor reconciliations
Manage the credit control process with a high focus on building relationships with the customer base
Manage the daily cash reports
Send statements and communicate with clients, primarily through phone calls, to resolve overdue payments.
Ad-hoc duties as required
Your Profile: We are looking for a strong-willed and confident Accounts Assistant with the ability to hit the ground running. You will have proven experience working in a large organisation where you have owned the full transactional functions and have a solid understanding of the full accounting cycle.
You will have strong rapport building skills, with the ability to get on with a variety of personalities. You will have excellent communication skills and time management ability, and you will be happy to roll up your sleeves and help out where needed. You will be pro-active with a positive attitude and you will be tech-savvy and experience working on medium-large ERP systems with strong excel skills.
