Te Tūranga | The role:
As the Payments Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of Product Managers and Senior Product Managers. Working alongside the Acquiring Product Leads, you will drive the strategic direction and execution of our domestic payment's product portfolio, ensuring alignment with ASB's wider organisational strategies. Your role will involve shaping and leading strategic product change initiatives, optimising portfolio performance within risk appetite, and pre-empting the impact of macro and microeconomic environments affecting your portfolio.
You will also be responsible for leading and mentoring your team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture. Additionally, you will drive profitability, acquisition, customer satisfaction, and good customer outcomes through effective product management.
This is an exciting and varied role, sharing responsibility for the overall success of the payment's product line. You will get to work with a broad range of stakeholders to continually improve the proposition, develop new products, manage risk, and drive activity across the Bank's distribution channels.
Ō pūkenga | About you:
The role would suit applicants with a minimum of 7 years of product management experience, including leadership experience. You should have a deep understanding of Business and Corporate banking payment products, financial analysis, and working with data for forecasting, monitoring, and reporting. Significant experience in product management within financial services, including ownership and execution of product strategy and priorities, is essential.
You should have deep knowledge of payments products, processes, policies, and supporting systems, as well as a strong understanding of the New Zealand payments landscape and presence in the payments industry. A good understanding of the New Zealand regulatory and legislative environment in relation to payments is also required.
Experience in managing change across a wide range of stakeholders, resolving competing demands, and brokering solutions that meet commercial, and risk imperatives is crucial. Additionally, you should have the ability to engage at a senior leadership and executive level, preparing and presenting executive and board-level papers.
Above all, you will be comfortable working across a range of stakeholders at all levels within the organisation, and your strong communication and relationship skills will be key.
