We are looking for a Technology Risk Specialist to join our team, where you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation and management of risk and control processes within our Technology & Transformation division.

This is your opportunity to contribute to a high-performing team and provide assurance to senior stakeholders on the effectiveness of Technology and Cyber controls.

Mo te tūranga | About the role:

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and management of risk and control processes that enable Technology & Transformation to manage risk effectively.
  • Provide assurance to senior management on the effectiveness of Technology and Cyber controls, policies, and systems, supporting Operational Risk and Compliance efforts.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Technology and Cyber controls testing, ensuring continuous improvement across the team.
  • Create test plans based on ASB control testing methodology to ensure thorough and effective control testing.
  • Deliver reporting to senior stakeholders on the performance and effectiveness of internal Technology and Cyber controls.
  • Promote a risk-aware culture within the Technology Division by maintaining strong partnerships and actively promoting best practices.
  • Support the implementation of the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) within Technology & Transformation.
  • Become a subject matter expert in selected risk, control, and compliance areas, managing a control assurance program for consistency and quality.


Ngā mea kia whai angitū ahau? | What do I need to be successful?

  • A solid understanding of business operations and IT operations.
  • Knowledge of the system/software development lifecycle.
  • Strong specification and documentation writing skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously.
  • 5+ years of experience in audit or control testing, preferably within the Technology and Cyber space.
  • A drive for results and a proven track record of achieving objectives and goals.
  • Integrity and Trust - a direct and truthful individual who is widely trusted.
  • A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Law, Information Technology, or related fields.
