We have partnered with New Zealand's largest repair and marine engineering facility which is seeking multiple Trade Assistants and Heavy Fabricators to join their team. This role offers hands-on work experience with a supportive team.
Execute a range of Trade Assistant tasks associated with ship and shore-based Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul, and Installation activities including, but not limited to,
Hot Work & Fire Sentry
Confined Space Sentry
Working at Height Sentry
Surface preparation for coatings application (Grinding, Sanding, Chipping, or Abrasive Blasting)
Coatings applications (Painting)
Basic Grinding & Welding Skills
Ability to operate basic Power & Hand Tools
Certifying compartments are safe to enter before commencing work (Gas Testing)
Operate mobile plants such as Forklifts, Elevated Work Platforms, and Class 4 Truck with HIAB or Crane attachment
Worksite Cleaning, (Workshop, Ship, or Yard based)
Tasks as directed by the tradesperson, Workshop Unit leader, Line Manager, or nominees.
Work collaboratively with other departments of the Business.
