About the role:

We have partnered with New Zealand's largest repair and marine engineering facility which is seeking multiple Trade Assistants and Heavy Fabricators to join their team. This role offers hands-on work experience with a supportive team.

Execute a range of Trade Assistant tasks associated with ship and shore-based Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul, and Installation activities including, but not limited to,

• Hot Work & Fire Sentry
• Confined Space Sentry
• Working at Height Sentry
• Surface preparation for coatings application (Grinding, Sanding, Chipping, or Abrasive Blasting)
• Coatings applications (Painting)
• Basic Grinding & Welding Skills
• Ability to operate basic Power & Hand Tools
• Certifying compartments are safe to enter before commencing work (Gas Testing)
• Operate mobile plants such as Forklifts, Elevated Work Platforms, and Class 4 Truck with HIAB or Crane attachment
• Worksite Cleaning, (Workshop, Ship, or Yard based)
• Tasks as directed by the tradesperson, Workshop Unit leader, Line Manager, or nominees.
• Work collaboratively with other departments of the Business.
