Mō Tāua | About Us:

The Enterprise Operations Risk and Compliance teams are responsible for maintaining the effective operation of the company's operational risk management framework.

Working closely with the Division's Executive Managers of the business, the team is responsible for the analysis, communication and oversight of all risk implications. They assist ASB to achieve its objectives through a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management and the framework of controls and governance processes, ultimately keeping the bank safe for our customers.

This is an excellent opportunity within Enterprise Operations for a keen and enthusiastic individual who is eager to develop their career within the world of Risk.

Te Tūranga | The Role:

As a Risk Specialist you will provide coaching and support our business units to mature their understanding and use of tools, processes, methodologies for managing compliance and risk responsibilities across Enterprise Operations.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and perform the Control Assurance Programme (CAP) for Enterprise Business Units. This includes testing and/ or assurance over key controls to ensure their design and operating effectiveness.
  • Responsible for facilitating Business continuity / disaster recovery planning and response for the teams you are responsible for.
  • Responsible for a wide range of risk reporting and analytics across Enterprise Operations.

  • To be successful in this role you will be proactive, take ownership, and have a delivery and outcomes driven work ethic to see tasks through to completion.
  • You will be adaptable with a natural ability to switch between various tasks and have an eye for identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Your excellent communication, good interpersonal and relationship management skills coupled with your strong proficiency with technology will ensure your success in this role.
  • At least 2 years risk and compliance experience preferred however, equivalent experience in complex Operations environments may be considered with a keen desire to progress a career within Risk.
