Te Tūranga – About the role
Are you passionate about ensuring top-notch software quality while empowering teams to be self-sufficient in their testing capabilities? As a Technical QA Specialist at Foodstuffs North Island, you’ll play a key role in equipping our Agile Delivery Squads with the skills, tools, and expertise they need to handle complex testing challenges. From automation frameworks to performance testing strategies, you'll be the guiding force behind our squads, helping them build scalable and efficient testing solutions.

In this hands-on role, you'll balance execution with enablement—acting as a consultant, mentor, and problem-solver. Whether it’s defining test automation best practices, integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines, or optimising virtualised test environments, you’ll ensure our squads have everything they need to succeed. Most importantly, you’ll leave a lasting impact by fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence in testing.

What You’ll Do:

  • Empower Agile Delivery Squads – Provide expertise in test automation, performance testing, and test data management to strengthen squad capabilities.
  • Shape Testing Strategies – Assess, implement, and advocate for the best approaches to functional test automation, load testing, and environment provisioning.
  • Be a Consultant & Innovator – Research, prototype, and introduce cutting-edge testing tools and AI-driven QA solutions.
  • Optimise Test Environments – Advocate for test environments that closely mirror production systems, ensuring accurate and reliable testing.
  • Drive a Culture of Learning – Mentor teams, upskill squad members, and embed best practices, ensuring long-term technical success.
  • This is your chance to make a real impact in an organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and quality at scale. If you’re ready to lead the future of technical testing at FSNI, we’d love to hear from you!
