Job Description

Are you an experienced and passionate teacher looking for a new opportunity to make a real impact on young learners? We are seeking a qualified teacher to join our vibrant team at BestStart Ponsonby in a fixed-term role. As a teacher at our centre, you will have the chance to work with a team of dedicated educators, sharing your love for early childhood education and contributing to the growth and development of tamariki.

We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of the curriculum, particularly with toddlers, and a deep passion for fostering a fun, energetic, and nurturing environment.

This is a fixed term position working 40 hours per week Monday-Friday until 31/10/25

What We’re Looking For:

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration/certification
  • Strong understanding of curriculum planning, child-led learning, and extending children's development
  • Knowledge of ECE regulations, Te Whāriki, and a commitment to compliance
  • Passion for working with toddlers, creating engaging learning experiences
  • Energetic, fun, and a great sense of humor
