We are seeking a confident and competent team player with experience and knowledge as a Refrigeration Engineer.


In this role, your responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running and monitoring of all refrigeration and cooling appliances and related devices:

• System Design: Designing refrigeration and cooling systems for various applications
• Installation: Overseeing the installation of refrigeration equipment and systems
• Maintenance: Conducting regular maintenance and repairs to ensure system efficiency
• Energy Optimisation: Improving energy efficiency in refrigeration systems to reduce operating costs
• Environmental Compliance: Ensuring systems meet environmental regulations regarding refrigerants
• Installation, repairs, service and maintenance across various Refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Trouble shoot air conditioning equipment malfunctions, diagnose problems, and perform maintenance on refrigeration & air conditioning equipment.
• Carry out routine checks and logs of the status of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
• Collect data for job reports, assets reports, and quoting - ensure that all information and records are loaded on the job tracking system and/or company files.
• Promptly complete all paperwork to a high standard (commission sheets, service sheets, check sheets).
• Daily monitoring of electric heat pumps, Co2 and ammonia refrigeration plant, routine freezer defrosting and management of and testing of water treatment, including Super Chlorination.
• Ensure routine preventative maintenance and annual servicing is carried out as required.
• Ensure all fittings, electrical and seals are in line with business needs and performing at acceptable levels.
• Management of any breakdowns and repair faults in a timely and efficient manner.
• Routine testing, adjusting and balancing of systems and processes to ensure efficiency.
• Management of heat recovery and hot water generation for the site.
• Promoting and complying with Health & Safety practices for themselves and those around them.
• Organise and coordinate refrigeration contractors to carry out annual overhauls & projects.

About you

• Qualified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer
• Current Electrical Service Engineer Licence
• Full NZ Drivers licence
• Industrial and commercial refrigeration and HVAC installation and maintenance and remedial work experience
• Well organised with the ability to meet deadlines, plan, and prioritise
• Team player with the ability to follow instructions
• Promoting and complying with Health & Safety practices for themselves and those around them
• You must have the right to work in New Zealand
