Join Access Community Health/Uru Ātea as an Advanced Support Worker, focusing on evaluating, training, and supporting our general support workforce.

Key Responsibilities:
Community-Based Assessments:

  • Evaluate support workers' care practices (e.g., handwashing, moving and handling).
  • Provide in-field guidance to improve skills and ensure compliance with policies.


In-Office Leadership:

  • Organize and lead workshops to enhance worker competencies.
  • Collaborate with care coordination and clinical teams.


Advanced Client Care:
Deliver complex care and specialized tasks (training provided).

Team Development:

  • Offer on-the-job training and mentorship to less experienced workers.
  • This is a blend of community and office-based work, offering a chance to lead, train, and directly improve the quality of care for our clients. You would work closely with our small team of 4 other Wellington and Hutt Valley Advanced Support Workers to ensure staff around the region maintaining a high level of care

Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga | About you

  • Positive, can-do attitude and experience in behaviour management is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (training provided).
  • Able to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., Palliative Care, Home-Based Nursing, Support Worker Coordination).
  • Must have a full or restricted New Zealand driver's license.
  • Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate (or equivalent), or Level 3 with a plan to complete Level 4.
  • Career force Assessor Qualification is a plus.
