This well-respected employer in the automotive sector is looking to employ a motivated Fleet Vehicle Sales Consultant. This is an exclusive opportunity to join a dynamic team driving innovation in fleet vehicle solutions across the Hawke's Bay prime market area.



About the role
The employer is seeking a results-driven professional to expand their fleet division, focusing on SME fleet clients, local government agencies, and occasionally larger corporate organisations.

You will play a pivotal role in delivering tailored fleet strategies that align with NZ's evolving light passenger and LCV fleets including electric vehicles (EVs), emissions compliance, and cost-efficient fleet management.


Key responsibilities

  • New business development - by its very nature this is a business development role
  • Prospect and secure fleet accounts across the brands, leveraging NZ-specific industry connections to grow the employer's market presence
  • Consultative sales: guide clients through vehicle selection, financing, and compliance (e.g., Clean Car Discount, whole of life assessments, RUC calculations among others) to optimise their fleet operations
  • Product demonstrations: showcase vehicles' technical specifications, safety features, and after-sales packages, warranties, servicing and where applicable vehicle telematics
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to vehicle delivery, ensuring seamless customer experiences.
  • Collaboration: work closely with the client's internal teams, finance, service, logistics to deliver integrated solutions
  • Market intelligence: stay informed on NZ fleet trends, including EV infrastructure developments and regulatory updates



What the employer requires

  • Proven track record: 3 years + in vehicle sales with preference for fleet/commercial experience or government sector engagement. Alternatively, we would also consider a senior Business Development Manager of other B2B products provided they are well connected in Hawke's Bay. Experienced fleet sales professionals in other regions within NZ would also be considered
  • Industry knowledge: a preference for familiarity with NZ fleet management tools and compliance standards
  • Network advantage: existing relationships with fleet managers, procurement teams, or leasing companies is highly regarded
  • Technical skills: preference for proficiency with dealer management systems and digital sales platforms
  • Drive and resilience: a history of exceeding targets in competitive environments
  • Adaptability: comfort working across multiple vehicle brands
  • Drivers licence: free of serious offences
