My client is far-reaching NGO with heavy community ties. The provide social care and housing for some of the most at-risk Kiwi’s and take the utmost pride in what they do. They are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join their team on a contract basis during a busy period, with the potential to go permanent.

The Role
The role of the Financial Accountant reports into the Financial Controller and assists the wider finance team with general accounting functions, supporting the month-end, complex reconciliations with a large focus on reporting. You will be someone who is experienced in looking at workflows and understands how to streamline processes.

Your duties will include:

• Owning the monthly financial reporting function, as well as ad-hoc reporting on a daily basis
• Managing the month-end process
• Managing the taxation compliance
• Weekly reconciliations
• Overseeing the Accounts Payable and Receivables functions
• Ad-hoc duties as required

Your profile:
We are looking for a qualified accountant who can demonstrate sound business acumen. You will be someone who shows initiative with sound analytical skills and advanced excel skills. Excellent communication is a requirement as well as the ability to guide staff whilst streamlining processes and building effective relationships across the business.
