Description
Are you passionate about the building industry and skilled in estimation? We're looking for a detailed-oriented and friendly Estimator to join our dynamic team! As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the planning stages of our varied projects, and your keen analytical skills will help us accurately assess project costs and resource requirements, ensuring we stay on budget and deliver outstanding results for our clients. You'll work closely with our Department Supervisors and clients to gather project specifications and data, providing expertise that will guide decision-making. If you're someone who enjoys tackling challenges and making a positive impact through precise estimation and attention to detail, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Analyse project drawings and specifications to generate accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to gather necessary project data.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and documentation for bids and proposals.
- Assess and evaluate subcontractor quotes and materials for cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor project costs and budgets during the construction process to ensure financial targets are met.
- Provide ongoing support and adjustments to estimates as project scope evolves.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to better understand project requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an estimator in the building industry.
- Strong understanding of building methods, materials, and regulations.
- Proficiency in estimation processes and documenting workings.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with high attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with various teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines efficiently.
- Valid driver's license required.
