We're looking for a passionate and skilled Software Engineer - Mobile (iOS) to join our team and help us shape the future of mobile banking.

Mo te tūranga | About the role: 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, test, and own the creation of outstanding iOS mobile applications, ensuring exceptional digital experiences for our customers.
  • Work closely with teams across the bank, including security, risk, and design, to ensure that all requirements and processes are met while delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Collaborate with your team to break down technical requirements into actionable tasks, help plan sprints, and estimate future work in an agile environment.
  • Communicate and drive essential SDLC practices within your team, helping stakeholders understand the value and ownership of these practices.
  • Actively participate in peer learning opportunities, including mentorship and presentations, to foster growth within your team and the broader engineering community.
  • Maintain a strong focus on integrating solutions with ASB's existing systems and ensure that the quality of these integrations meets our high standards.
  • Contribute to shared assets, including technical documentation and component libraries, and continuously strive to improve industry best practices for iOS development.


Ngā mea kia whai angitū ahau? | What do I need to be successful? 

  • Professional experience in iOS development with a strong understanding of Objective-C, Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and iOS SDK.
  • Familiarity with design patterns like MVC, MVP, MVVM, VIPER, and Clean Architecture, and a strong passion for building clean, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
  • A solid understanding of OWASP principles and secure development practices to ensure the security of applications.
  • Experience working in an agile environment with the ability to break down tasks, estimate effort, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a growth mindset, with a focus on continuously improving your knowledge and the quality of your work.
  • A passion for high-quality coding, including an understanding of testing best practices and a commitment to delivering robust, accessible applications.
