Te Tūranga | The role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a risk and compliance professional to join our Risk Governance & Reporting team here at ASB. As a Risk Governance Manager, you will support the Personal Banking Risk team provide support to our division to comply with laws, regulations and internal policies, including advising on new initiatives and ongoing BAU risk and compliance activities.
In this role, you will help enhance the risk culture within Personal Banking by supporting initiatives that measure and transform it. Your role includes helping to coordinate the Risk and Compliance Committee, improving risk reporting, and preparing meeting materials. You will also play an important role in supporting the Risk team's strategy and planning, as well as helping to coordinate division-wide attestations and other similar risk initiatives.
Working collaboratively alongside other teams within the broader Personal Banking Risk team as well as across all lines of accountability, you will support the business units within Personal Banking to achieve their business objectives in a better, sooner and safer way.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 5+ years financial services experience in risk or related disciplines.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills that can be deployed to quickly identify issues and proactively drive solutions.
- Interpersonal skills - ability to network, influence and relate well with peers, senior management, and internal customers.
- Ability to take ownership of complex tasks and deliver to agreed outcomes while keeping stakeholders appropriately engaged
- Strong written communication skills and ability to write in a clear, concise, and effective manner.
- Effective verbal communication - ability to relate to and influence stakeholders and effectively convey requirements and timelines.
