About the role: 

We are seeking an experienced Calypso software or configuration consultant to join our Treasury and Trading team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Calypso platform or similar (e.g. Murex) and its applications in some of the following areas - trading and order management (including FX, fixed income, interest rates, commodities and other derivatives), risk and collateral management and processing of various financial instruments.

This role sits in our technical team but involves working closely with the Global Markets, Treasury, Finance and Market Risk teams to support the various financial operations of ASB.



Key Responsibilities:

Functional expertise in Calypso and related systems

• Design and implement solutions using the Calypso platform to support finance operations (accounting), market risk as well as front-office (FX, Derivatives, Fixed Income and more)
• Build out new functionalities, configuring new and existing modules of the Calypso platform
• Play a key role in regular upgrades of the Calypso application (and related systems)
• Be involved in the full implementation lifecycle - from requirements gathering, implementation, to testing and deployment to production
• Lead and participate in the squad's BAU and production support activities by taking ownership of support issues, working on root cause analysis and communicating resolutions constructively
• Work with variety of stakeholders (developers, testers, business users and vendors)
• Ensure all changes meet ASB's quality, security and control requirements.

Leadership

• Lead the design and implementation of functionalities across front, middle & back-office components, from pricing to settlement, credit/market risk and beyond.
• Provide functional expertise to customers and team members
• Mentor team members, foster a learning environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth
• Lead improvement initiatives to streamline business and team processes

Knowledge and Collaboration

• Engage with stakeholders to gather, analyse and refine requirements and deliver effective solutions that meet business needs.
• Work closely with CXO and other team members to help groom and prioritise the backlogs, shape and prepare work for the team and ensure alignment to the squad's development workflow
• Share relevant insights/developments in the domain of expertise across the squad.
• Support and contribute to our agile ways of working
• Cultivate a positive tribe culture, aimed at innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement

About you:

We'll value your understanding of financial markets, your proven initiative, problem solving abilities and leadership skills as we look for every engineer to lead from their position.

We are looking for an individual that will take ownership of our technical solutions, drive continuous change for the squad and customers to ensure we are delivering the best outcomes possible. You will work collaboratively with our squads and stakeholders to be the voice of engineering and deliver products that delight our customers.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Extensive experience in supporting financial markets products on Calypso (or similar platform)
• You will have supported trading systems such as Calypso, Wallstreet or Murex in some capacity
• Extensive front-, middle- or back-office domain experience
• You will ideally have functional or business analysis experience, working with customers and stakeholders, including requirements gathering
• Solid knowledge of and experience of the software delivery lifecycle
• Solid SQL skills (Oracle)
• Experience in supporting apps in a production environment - understand log files, scheduled tasks, runbooks, change control
• Excellent communication skills, proactive, fast learner

In addition, the following would be an advantage: 

• Tech skills - understand programming concepts - source code management, unit and functional testing, deployments
• Java development skills (or other programming language)
• Linux knowledge and scripting experience
• Experience with CICD - build and deployment pipelines
• Elastic / Kibana dashboards
