Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Risk Manager to join our Enterprise Data and Analytics Platform, focusing on Financial Crime. As a senior member of the team, you will be helping to champion data governance and risk management activities across ASB. From overarching strategy to detailed implementation, this role gets to influence at every level of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive a large enterprise-wide data management transformation programme, including the implementation of tools, policies, and procedures.
- Play a key role in the training and effective use of tools, procedures, and governance processes.
- Coordinate the Data Community at ASB, setting policy, standards, assisting in governance, and forming strategy.
- Be a leading advocate for effective data governance and data risk management.
- Support the effective function and operation of the data control environment for the Financial Control end-to-end process.
- Manage relationships with key business stakeholders to understand and document their data needs.

You will ideally be a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills where your positivity and excellent communication skills enable you to share knowledge and learn from others while contributing to key outcomes.

- Strong background in the application of governance principles with a particular focus on transformation within data governance.
- Business intelligence and information management experience within banking or financial services.
- Strong influencing and collaboration skills based on knowledge, frameworks, ability to sell benefits, and communicate possibilities while understanding the very real challenges of running the organisation.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and present to executive level.
