We are looking for a Compliance Manager to join the Programme Compliance team within Personal Banking. This role is a permanent role located at the beautiful ASB North Wharf building. You may be from a legal, banking or compliance background looking to take on a new challenge.

In this role you will provide compliance support to Personal Banking businesses on compliance with obligations under laws, regulations and internal policies, and to ensure new processes and controls deliver enduring compliance.

Te tūranga | The role:

Assist with the implementation of compliance frameworks, standards and processes for applicable laws, regulations and policies.
Assist with core compliance activities for Personal Banking including control development and enhancement, incident and issue management and compliance self-assessments.
Assist with reporting and team risk process enhancements
Support the delivery of regulatory change, assisting with obligations being understood, mapped and delivered.
Provide ad hoc support to the Specialist Compliance Leads and Head of Programme Compliance as required.
Participate in Personal Banking and pan-bank projects, strategic initiatives and business changes as may arise from time to time.

Ō pūkenga | About you:

Deep understanding of banking and the regulatory environment. Compliance expertise and experience in Financial Crime, Deposit Takers Act, and CCCFA is particularly desirable.
Ability to successfully drive change and process improvement.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to explain complex technical information to non-subject matter experts.
Strong stakeholder engagement and management across all levels.
Attention to detail and managerial courage.
At least 5 years' experience in a corporate or professional services environment (banking, compliance or legal).
Tertiary qualification in a Legal or similar discipline is desirable.
