Job Description

Transport Facility Operator
Our client is 100% NZ owned and operated. They're a trusted manufacturer and provider of quality food packaging and personal protective equipment across New Zealand and Australia, currently seeking a skilled Transport Facility Operator (TFO) to join their dynamic team over the Christmas holiday period, based in Wigram.

Hours of work:
On-call basis, depending on container shipment arrivals (Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting containers, supervising their unpacking and containing any biosecurity risks found
  • Ensuring that the facility meets all environmental regulations and industry-specific compliance standards
  • Supervising and supporting facility staff, ensuring all team members are following operational procedures
  • Keeping accurate records of facility operations, including maintenance schedules, safety checks, inventory levels, and production outputs
  • Coordinate and manage freight operations efficiently


Requirements:

  • Current TFO qualification and experience in a similar role, preferably within the food or manufacturing industries
  • Strong understanding of health and safety standards and practices
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot a variety of equipment and machinery
  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills
