Job Description
SPM Malvern is seeking an experienced and motivated maintenance fitter. This position will join the existing trades team on either day or night shift, to help ensure that plant assets are managed and maintained in a way that minimizes processing downtime and enhances the company’s short- and long-term objectives. This role is an integral part of our operation, and we require someone with a positive, can-do attitude and someone who works extremely well within a team.

You will need to be able to demonstrate the following key requirements for the role:

  • Be a real team player with excellent communication skills
  • A proactive attitude to make sure that production departments experience minimal down time due to engineering/maintenance requirements
  • Strong organisational skills which complement the need to manage a variety of priorities and demands.
  • Strong problem-solving skills,
  • Appropriate qualifications and/or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment


Please be aware this is a Night Shift Role. Hours will be approximately 2:30pm - 12:30am.

Qualifications
Applicants must have:

  • A Trade certificate in engineering/maintenance or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
  • Welding ability Tig, Mig, MMAW.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Previous experience working with automated plant and equipment
  • Previous engineering experience in a food processing environment would be an advantage.
  • A proactive approach to daily routine with strong organisational skills,
  • A strong commitment to upholding health and safety standards,
  • A desire to succeed


Additional Information
We will train you, so no previous experience is needed, however, to ensure a safe workplace, SPM conducts pre-employment medical checks and drug screening. Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
