The Company

My client is a well-known household brand in the hospitality industry. The company has multiple sites and multiple revenue streams. The organisation definitely has a great feel about it and now are looking for someone who can fit into their friendly team due to the recent transition of ownership across some of the entities. This is a contract position offering a lot of flexibility for the right person.

The Role

This is a varied role where you will assist across the transactional processing of two entities of the business while they are working through the transition of ownership. You will work closely with the Head of Finance and be someone who is agile and flexible to take on different tasks as and when is needed.

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting the Accounts Payable function during the sale transition, taking responsibility of processing and payment of supplier invoices post sale
  • Coding, 3-way matching and ensuring delegated authority has been met
  • Processing monthly journals and supplier reconciliations
  • Assist external auditors with requests for financial information and in the review of internal controls
  • To support the accounts receivable function during the sales transition, including collection of customer payments post sale and reconciliation of customer receipts
  • Weekly timesheet processing and reviewing of approved hours/ leave etc and work with an outsourced payroll company for payments
  • Daily bank reconciliations for multiple accounts using Xero


Your profile:

We are looking for a hands-on Accounts Assistant with a flexible and problem-solving mindset due to the nature of moving parts because of the sale of the business. You will be someone that is capable of working in ambiguity in a changing environment as well as someone who can take ownership and juggle multiple tasks in a time sensitive situations.

You will have strong excel skills and proven experience with a high volume of reconciliations, experience with Xero is highly desirable but not essential. Having experience working in the hospitality industry would be beneficial.
