Auckland Council has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing and Logistics Graduate to join their team.  
 
The Print, Category and Distribution team looks after all print and distribution across Auckland Council, from finding suppliers to delivery of a product. This can range from signage, merchandise, gift cards, uniforms and so much more. No day will look the same! 

As part of our 2-year rotational Graduate Programme, you’ll have the opportunity to work across multiple teams within the Auckland Council Group on meaningful projects that deliver real outcomes for Aucklanders. This is a unique chance to build a strong foundation in purchasing and logistics while gaining exposure to a broad range of initiatives. Through mentorship, technical skill-building, and professional development, you’ll grow your knowledge, build lasting connections, and be supported to step confidently into a permanent role—contributing to the future of Tāmaki Makaurau.
 
You can expect to be involved in a range of projects, research and programmes which will involve working within various teams including:
• Logistics- assisting in planning and coordinating the distribution of materials across Council departments and external stakeholders
• Purchasing - supporting the sourcing of goods and services that align with Council’s needs and sustainability goals
• Compliance - helping to ensure adherence to procurement policies and relevant legislation
• Operations/negotiations - engaging with suppliers and internal teams to ensure effective and efficient service delivery
• Procurement - participating in supplier management, cost analysis, and tender processes
• Finance - working alongside finance teams on budgeting, forecasting, and supplier payments

• Or other relevant degrees
 
To be eligible to apply, you must have the following:
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand for more than 3 years without sponsorship
• Minimum of a relevant Bachelor’s degree completed January 2024 – January 2026
