The Role
They are looking for a key Structural Lead who is responsible for growing the structural engineering offering at the company and establishing a strong market presence and client following.

You will be working closely with the New Zealand Structural Lead and Auckland Office Director to leverage existing client relations and grow the local structural team.

Based in their Auckland office, you will be Responsible for Business processes and delivery as defined by business framework and performance objectives. This key role is responsible for managing stakeholders and clients concerned with project delivery and to manage team resources to deliver on projects.

  • Overseeing design projects entails tasks such as defining scope, managing finances, scheduling, ensuring quality, and handling risks.
  • Taking charge of various projects concurrently, spanning from concept design to construction monitoring.
  • Actively contributing to fostering positive client relationships and ongoing business development. Taking on a leadership role in mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Collaborating within a supportive team to collectively achieve our client’s objectives.


About You

  • Possession of a pertinent tertiary qualification in Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)
  • Seasoned experience in structural engineering, preferably in a consulting firm.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of New Zealand building codes and local standards.
  • Seasoned engineering expertise spanning the entire project lifecycle with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Experience in commercial, industrial and government work is preferable.
  • Proven capability to communicate complex information effectively, both verbally and in writing, to various stakeholders, including colleagues and clients across multiple disciplines.
  • Aptitude for team building and leadership, along with the capacity to drive and implement change.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving, utilizing initiative and judgment to work independently towards achieving objectives.
  • Sharp problem-solving skills with a savvy approach to handling team members and clients.
