Mō te tūnga | About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Advisor Investment to play an important role as part of our Strategic Finance Team in National Office Wellington. This role will provide specialist investment advice, analysis, guidance and expertise to the wider organisation and will also assist us to reach key financial objectives. This role will also develop an investment framework which will enable a structured and logical approach to how investment decisions are made within and across Oranga Tamariki. You will also work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment of investments with overall financial goals.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
you will bring extensive experience developing and implementing investment model and strategies within a government agency. You will possess strong analytical skills to conduct comprehensive financial analysis, risk assessments and performance evaluation of the organisation. Knowledge of and experience in collaborative leadership, collective impact, coordination, and facilitation is preferred for this exciting and challenging position.
Some other key requirements of the role include:
- Through your strong modelling skills lead the development of cost models for Oranga Tamariki to provide a structured a logical approach to how investment decisions are made within Oranga Tamariki
- Participate in and support the process of the Oranga Tamariki strategic planning, including planning with the Commissioning and Investment team
- Provide investment expertise, advice and guidance on financial strategies and financial planning in line with the financial objectives of Oranga Tamariki
- Conduct thorough financial analysis of investments including funding requirements, reviewing financial statements, and risk assessments
- Provide a consolidated view of Oranga Tamariki's funding and expenditure profile identifying trends and cost drivers
- Actively identify and manage risks, ensuring strategies are in place to mitigate these.
- Participate in and support the process of the Oranga Tamariki strategic planning, and Budget process's.
- Build and maintain strong internal relationships to support the Investment approach across Oranga Tamariki

Annual remuneration for this position starts between $147,010 and $162,887 dependant on experience.
