Massey University’s School of Veterinary Science is seeking a dedicated Professional Clinician/Senior Professional Clinician to join our dynamic team in Pathobiology.

Position Purpose: As a Professional Clinician/Senior Professional Clinician, you will enhance the learning outcomes of our students and contribute to the scholarly outputs of the University. You will be involved in delivering high-quality veterinary teaching, providing clinical instruction, and supporting research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the diagnostic pathology roster, including biopsy and necropsy.
  • Deliver tutorials, lectures, seminars, practicals, and workshops.
  • Support postgraduate students and residents in anatomical pathology.
  • Design and support student assessments and interactions.
  • Contribute to the development of learning resources and supervise practical classes.
  • Engage in professional service and administrative duties within the University.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • A veterinary degree eligible for registration with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand.
  • Board certification or eligibility for certification in Veterinary Pathology.
  • Experience in diagnostic pathology is essential.
  • Experience in veterinary teaching and postgraduate training is desirable.
  • Knowledge of New Zealand’s animal production systems and diseases is a plus.

The salary will be reflective of experience within the Professional Clinician/ Senior Professional Clinician ($81,172 $143,949 NZD) range. This full time (37.5h p/w) position will be based in Palmerston North with appointment for a fixed term period of 2 years.
