Downer Energy work with some of New Zealand’s largest asset owners and energy providers including Powerco. We are currently looking for an experienced electrical supervisor to lead our electrical team working in the Thames Valley, South Waikato and Coromandel areas.
About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to grow your career as a supervisor within our team based in our Tauranga depot. You will be leading a highly skilled team of Electricians and Technicians working on Powerco’s distribution network, providing services including construction, maintenance, and fault diagnosis/rectification.
You will have proven ability to monitor performance, motivate your team to deliver within timeframes and budgets with a focus on quality and safety.
Demonstrating natural leadership skills, you will enjoy coaching team members and become a valued mentor to assist your people in their career development and to deliver results for our customers.

As a proven leader, highly experienced in the Distribution sector, you will quickly gain the respect of your crews and credibility with our clients. Your will be able to demonstrate your ability to communicate technical information and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
It is essential that you are an experienced Electrician or equivalent with knowledge of the power industry and can offer:
Relevant Electrical Registration and current Practicing licence
A minimum of five years’ experience including high voltage and overhead work with experience leading crews.
Be highly organised, and able to plan works.
A strong commitment to safety including sound knowledge of the Safety Manual Electricity Industry (SMEI) and Safe Practices for Low Voltage Electrical Work
