We are reshaping the way we deliver IT services at Massey University and are looking for an experienced and dynamic leader for our Projects Delivery Practice. You’ll be a seasoned professional who knows how to manage project planning, reporting, and governance. Your expertise and approach will be crucial in ensuring the successful delivery, using best practice methodologies, of the right projects at the right time to the satisfaction of the business owner and end-user.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
The Practice Lead, Projects Delivery is responsible for the operational management and leadership of their practice area. The role oversees the end-to-end delivery of ITS-related projects, develops and maintains the project management and governance frameworks, and leads the team of experienced Senior IT Project Managers and Coordinators, as well as externally contracted staff as required. You may also be tasked with leading significant projects, if required.

Provide Project Management Office services
Lead project and programme tracking and reporting activities
Manage a team that delivers and oversees digital projects
Ensure successful delivery of projects to time, cost, and quality targets
Implement effective project, programme, and portfolio management frameworks and methodologies
Ko koe tēnei | Who You Are
Tertiary qualification in IT or business management, or equivalent extensive industry experience
Industry-recognised certification in Project Management, Programme Management, Portfolio Management, and/or P3M at a practitioner or manager level
Minimum 7 years’ experience in an IT or IT-related position, with a deep background in project planning and delivery
Experience in implementing project and programme management and support practices
Experience in building and effectively managing cohesive teams, including the ability to coach and develop a team

This is a full-time (37.5hrs) position. Many of the IT Services teams and business stakeholders are based on our Palmerston North campus, which is the preferred location for this role. Consideration may be given for the right candidate to be based at our Wellington Campus, however regular travel to Palmerston North will be required. Appointment will be commensurate of skills and experience within the $130 - $170K range.
