Job Description

New Shoots Hamilton is currently looking for qualified Kaiako to join our team.

We have a fun, child led, safe setting where children are free to explore, play, and discover.

About us:

We pride ourselves on our supportive, fun, and solid team. It is crucial in ECE to have a team that supports, encourages, and uplifts, and that's exactly what we do. These roles will be for a heart lead Kaiako with proven experience in positive and fun centres. We would also ideally like to see someone with similar philosophies, we follow the Pikler and RIE approaches.

Our bright, natural centre is full of light and warmth. With a fun and well-designed outdoor area in a central Hamilton location, we have a "playing in nature" commitment for our tamariki. If you are interested in having a look yourself, our doors are always open, and you are welcome to pop in for a look.

At New Shoots we look for Kaiako with a true heart-led approach and someone with:

  • A respectful and peaceful practice
  • Passionate about play based learning and exploration.
  • A creative ability to understand tamariki interests and extend on their learning
  • A drive to constantly be engaged with tamariki and giving them the safe and supportive environment to explore, learn, and have fun
  • Experience and knowledge with planning and learning stories
  • New Zealand teachers’ registration
