Join our Infrastructure Delivery team in one of several roles, this is a unique opportunity to make a real impact on large-scale projects that connect people, drive innovation, and ensure a world-class experience for all who travel through our gateway to Aotearoa.

Please note we will be reviewing CVs in early January when we return to the office, with interviews to take place towards the end of January.

About the Role:

In this role, you will take ownership of projects spanning Airfield, Domestic Processor, Landside, and Terminal Enabling infrastructure. Working collaboratively with our main contractor, consultant teams, and Airport Operations teams you will manage projects end-to-end, ensuring delivery on scope, programme, cost, quality, safety, and operational continuity.

From coordinating resources to aligning stakeholder expectations and mitigating risks, this role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a live, highly regulated environment and can turn challenges into opportunities.

Key Highlights:


  • Oversee projects with values ranging from $50M to $1B+ in one of New Zealand’s most complex operational hubs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and up to 100+ contractors on-site through planning, execution, and successful completion.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across internal teams, contractors, consultants, local Iwi, government agencies, and more.
  • Champion planning, quality, safety, sustainability, and innovation in all aspects of project delivery.


What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver projects to scope, programme, and budget while meeting Auckland Airport’s rigorous infrastructure standards.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project execution plans and dashboards, proactively tracking progress and risk.
  • Coordinate construction activities, technical submittals, and defect closures while keeping a focus on safety and operational continuity.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement plans, balancing competing priorities and ensuring effective communication.
  • Implement robust risk and commercial management practices to achieve optimal project outcomes.
  • Build and motivate teams, embodying Auckland Airport’s “Whiria te tangata” values—All in, Know How, Let’s Go—to achieve excellence together.


About You:

To excel in this role, you will bring:

  • A degree qualification in Engineering, Management, or a related field.
  • Strong project management expertise with certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile being advantageous.
  • Previous construction experience
  • Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects (values $100M–$1B+), particularly in complex, live operating environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to navigate diverse priorities.
  • Experience in actively managing and resolve complex interfaces between peripheral projects and operational activity.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Knowledge of construction and permitting processes, as well as building and resource consent requirements.
